PROBLEM: U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan wanted to maximize Onbody-Cargo carrying capacity. They also needed to be able to quickly and easily remove the carried load from their body armor.



SOLUTION: The OVER-ARMOR tactical vest is a load-bearing vest that slips over standard body armor systems and can be removed just as easily. Its unique wrap-around design increases cargo capacity, offering 50 percent more mounting space than conventional systems and enabling troops to better balance the load.

The quality work and material that went into making this vest is obvious. The zipper is very heavy duty, but is actually my only gripe since it is sometimes hard to get the zipper started quickly. I am learning how to position everything to get it started but it still takes a little longer than it should. All in all this is a great vest with good adjustments and plenty of MOLLE real estate. Being what Pat Rogers calls "warrior sized" (5' 7" and a fit 135 lbs), I was concerned that this vest might not go small enough for me to wear without armor underneath. It does fit me, though. I have the adjustment on the back adjusted as small as it will go and it fits well. The adjustments could even be doubled over to get it a bit smaller. It's long enough that I have to wear my war belt over the bottom of the vest. I was worried about this at first, but after some use I've found that I really like this setup. The only thing that could be improved is that there should be a way to secure the adjustment flaps on the inside of the vest. When the vest is adjusted small like I have mine, those flaps really move around and can make the vest take on some strange shapes. Some velcro would go a long way. It's not a big deal, just a minor annoyance. All in all, it's a great vest and it was exactly what I was looking for. (Posted on 3/11/13)

I bought this LBV with about $1,000 worth of other Spec-Ops Brand gear. All of it has been top-notch.

The D-rings are metal and well anchored.

There is MOLLE everywhere.

The only issue is it doesn't breath as well as mesh, but it does hold more sturdy. (Posted on 1/11/13)
