The BASIC MODULAR KNIFE SHEATH was developed to securely carry fixed blade knives up to 8" in length either belt mounted or attached to the loops on modular load-bearing gear. The BASIC MODULAR KNIFE SHEATH allows the user to attach our Multi-light Sheath, Light Sheath Deluxe, or Super Sheath Single to the front face for additional load carriage and organization.
- Fully modular attachment loops for utility / tool pouches.

Good overall sheath for the money. Quality construction, and materials. Sheath was mis-packed and arrived with plastic insert misshapen. Used heat gun to straighten out. Perhaps if insert was a little thicker/sturdier it wouldn't have bent.Price Value Quality
Hook and loop for retention strap keeps strap curved when open, rubbing the blade while removing or inserting. Considering sewing shock cord to outside of strap to keep it open wider when opened.
Webbing on back or rivets (like on the combat master) would allow sheath more versatile mounting to pack.

I had bought the Schrade Extreme Survival Knife (SCHF1 - the great copy of the Chris Reeve Project One) and while the knife is superb, the sheath is cheap polyester junk, and I needed something I could actually count on lasting for as long the knife would.Price Value Quality
I have found that with this sheath.
I was going to go with the Combat Master, but went with this instead because of the ability to add modular pouches as needed. This sheath is the PERFECT complement to that blade. The only thing I had to do was round off the top of the Kydex insert, becase the knife has a forward curving double guard. It took about 15 minutes with the a Dremel to get the angle just right - and viola! a perfect fit.
You simply cannot buy a better sheath in a modular configuration anywhere else. These are the best!
The only thing I would add to this is a MOLLE attachment system on the back. For knives this long, it would be nice to have the option to strap this on the side of a MOLLE equipped pack. (Posted on 8/8/12) - Durable, well designed sheath Review by Jake

This is a basic, no-frills sheath. It works well with larger knives, like the USMC combat knife or Army M9 bayonet. Sheath is solid and rides well on a belt. However, it does not work too well on MOLLE vests. This could be improved by running the cord down the side of the sheath. like on the Combat Master Sheath.
