SPEC.-OPS. Brand Introduces Universal MAMBA™ Combat Fighting Sling
New version of Spec.-Ops. Brand’s market leading MAMBA sling now fits all conventional weapons
MONAHANS, TX (November 1, 2005) – Spec.-Ops. Brand today introduced the UNIVERSAL MAMBA Combat Fighting Sling, the latest innovation in its line of pioneering, tactical nylon gear for military, law enforcement and other applications requiring the highest performance.
The UNIVERSAL MAMBA Combat Fighting Sling is the evolution of the company’s market leading, battle-proven MAMBA sling. The UNIVERSAL MAMBA is a one sling-fits-all system that simplifies the sling selection process for users and improves performance in the field. It underwent extensive field testing in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The new “UNIVERSAL” design allows the sling to be mounted quickly and easily to all weapons platforms now being fielded by the US Military including the M-4, M-16, M-14, M-24, M-40, SR-25, Mk-11, Mod. 0, M-240, M-249, M-79 and M-107 and various shotguns. The innovative “Uni-Link” feature (patent pending) allows the user to mount the sling without the cumbersome adaptors and failure-prone hook-and-loop attachment points found on other slings. The same sling can be used by right-handed or left-handed shooters, simplifying the procurement process.
“Given the increasing variety of weapons platforms being used by our forces,” said Jeff Wemmer, CEO of Spec.-Ops. Brand, “we recognized the need for a more adaptable version of our highly popular, battle proven sling. We carefully considered the aspects of what would make for the ultimate package and came up with the UNIVERSAL MAMBA. This innovation also makes it easier for unit commanders to procure slings for their troops during the hectic spin-up prior to deployment. Another added benefit is that training is simplified and performance is increased by having one sling system that fits all weapons. In short, the MAMBA is the real deal.”
The original MAMBA Sling was the first sling designed for “full contact” engagement. Its dynamic, elasticized end, called the Power Strike Zone™ permitted non-lethal strikes with the weapon muzzle with the weapon slung and in “ready” position.
Thousands of US troops use Spec.-Ops. Brand weapon slings, making the company the leading supplier of after-market slings to the US military. Spec-Ops Brand products are available through retail dealers and AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange System) exchanges worldwide, and are issued to US.troops through the Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI) and other military unit procurement programs.
The UNIVERSAL MAMBA has a 1.25-inch wide shoulder strap and uses a tubular web design that is super strong and virtually twist/tangle free. It works for right- or left- handed shooters and is available in Black. Like all Spec.-Ops. Brand products, the UNIVERSAL MAMBA is backed by the company’s unique lifetime guarantee. Retail list price for the UNIVERSAL MAMBA is $34.95.
