This bag fills the need to pack all needed for duty to train w/o assistance three days. Added extra drop pouches and interior frame to pack more and go farther with good fit. (Posted on 1/12/2013)

The Pack is a great bag that is well constructed to start off with however with the addition of some sheaths and pouch makes it even better. The price just tops it all off to make it an outstanding deal.

Everything is extremely well constructed and I'm am very happy to have purchased one. I should have purchased 3 more at this great of price before they were bought out.

Regardless I recommend The Disaster Preparedness Kit. I don't see this needing to be replaced/repaired anytime soon or in the near future.

Beautifully done Spec-Ops Thank you (Posted on 1/10/2013)

Reasons to like it,
1. Love the yellow interior...genius.
2. Made in USA (even though Im canadian i still like to see $$ being spent in north america!)
3. Well constructed and the material is not super stiff
4. Colour actually isnt that bad when you look at it live. (still I would rather have a choice of some of the other colours but what can you do, and spec ops is right when they say who cares about colour for an emergency bag.)

The only thing I would like to have on this bag is the bottom outside pocket to have interior pouches for keys pens etc, but I guess thats what the rat pack organizer is for.
Anyway its a great pack and for $89 a great value so dont hesitate to buy with confidence. (Posted on 1/5/2013)

I received the older one that had only one double mag holder, flashlight holder, and one six AR mag pouch. I'm not too crazy about the desert camo and honestly I would never get anything in it. But this seemed like such a bargain that I couldn't pass it up. Spray paint can go a long way if need be. Well I am glad I made the purchase. This was my first Spec Ops product ever so there were more than a couple things to be review in that order. The quality of the pack itself is GREAT. Materials used, workmanship, and over all fit and finish is phenomenal. This is the way products used to be made back in the day and should be made. The specs and features are all listed so I'm not going to get into that. You know if it's what you need or don't. The pack itself though is excellent compared to others out there on the market. You just have to feel the material and feel the quality and heft when you pick it up so you can really appreciate it. The camo isn't bad at all either. I actually like it. There is so much tan showing that you barely notice the camo pattern. That was a great and welcome surprise for me. It doesn't look busy or cluttered at all if you decide to use it as a daily pack.

When I ordered my kit I added three more of the six magazine box pouches for a total of four. They have them on clearance for under seven bucks each and it's the same one that was already included. It is spacious and heavy duty. The Velcro is so heavy duty that you have to put some effort into undoing it so you know your belongings will be safe in there. Did I mention they are spacious for whatever you want to throw in there? Well they are. Tough as hell also. The six mag box is great. Extremely useful for many other things other than carrying magazines for my M4. I have two on the bottom front pouch and one on each side of the pack towards the bottom also. The MOLLE system Spec Ops uses is like nothing I have seen before. It's not like your traditional PALS webbing or anything like that so it takes a little longer to set things up and at times it can be a pain in the butt. The good thing though is that it's not limited to just one type of mounting and that's it. Gives you options which is a good thing for just a little inconvenience.

The flashlight pouch, what can I say. You can stick whatever you want in there and use it for whatever you can fit in there. I don't like the fact that the adjustable strap is on an angle and it works its way loose pretty easily. I do like the fact that there is a piece of bluish green plastic covering the grommet hole so that you can use the light in the pouch for low light reading or signaling. It's also good because it will show you if your light went on by accident. But all in all I can't trust it enough to put any of my tactical lights in it. I just don't trust that retaining strap and as expensive as today's flashlight can be I can't trust it. Material and workmanship is good but I just think the design is lacking. I use it to store other things. They should make the strap perfectly horizontal and use a better buckle with more bite.

The double pistol magazine pouch. Nothing special other than the use of quality materials. It is very simple and doesn't stand out of the crowd. My Condor brand magazine pouches feel as good in quality but are more appealing to the eye and feel like an overall better product. Then you throw in what Spec ops charges for theirs vs the Price for a Condor and there is no way I could justify spending my money on the Spec Ops unit. Now if they sold it constantly for the clearance price that they have going on then I would say it would be worth buying but still not over other offerings out there. One of my flaps had the button installed extremely offset to the side. Very noticeable and annoying but it was included so what can I do. Makes me wonder if it is a factory second or quality control reject and that's why it was included in the deal. It's still usable so I have it attached to the Pack.

I am glad I happen to come across this deal because it is worth it in my opinion. i love the pack itself and I just can't express to you what it's like to see the workmanship and quality that went into making it. Later on I found out that they make a insert for it to aid you on heavy loads similar to what a frame would do. It goes inside the rear pocket in the pack itself and it's a little hassle to place in there but once you do it's worth it. Now here is the one thing that puzzles me and I haven't been able to find anything anywhere talking about this. Where the heck are you supposed to hang your water bladder from?! I purchased a Camelbak 3L military low profile bladder which is wider and a little shorter to provide a less bulky profile. Look into these. They are green and much heavier duty than their regular bladders. Anyways, as I was saying, there is nowhere to hang the bladder from that I can see. That doesn't make any sense to me at all. If this was done on purpose then someone from Spec Ops needs to explain to me why because it doesn't make any sense. You can just let your bladder sit in there or rig something up yourself if you want to but I just don't get it. i have found no mention about it here on anywhere on the internet for that matter. The dual hose ports are a good design which uses heavy duty Velcro to keep them closed if not needed. This will become my SHTF pack and I'm already saving up for a second one for camping and hunting.

For a first time customer and product user I have to say that I am impressed but not all was paradise. Materials, workmanship, quality control are great. Things that are lacking in most everything you buy now in days. Now here is some of the cons with my overall experience. I had some questions and called to speak with customer service. The person I spoke with appeared to be lost. Almost as if they didn't want to have to help me but would do it just to get me of the phone because I insisted on having my questions answered. Then when my questions were answered I did't feel to confident in the information that I was given. I don't know if maybe they just don't have a dedicated customer service department and I just got some random person. I didn't like that and was a little sketchy in placing my first order with them after I hung up but obviously still did. I am hesitant to call them with any questions though. My next issue is order processing efficiency. I have placed a few orders with them now and it feels like it takes forever to get your stuff. It shows that the items are in stock so you would think that they would ship the next day at least, right? No. It just sits there and sits there and sits there and...you get what I'm saying. Then finally after a week or two later your stuff ships out and the donkey is saddled with your merchandise and off it goes on its way to you. Very disappointing. I'm glad the shipping is free if your order is over $50 and I hope they don't do away with that. My wife hates it cause she knows I will never spend less than $50 but what can you do. Lol. So we have a company that makes great products right here at home in the USA which is a good thing. But customer service and efficiency is lacking. Everything I have purchased so far has been on sale or blowout pricing. As good as the products are I feel that they are priced way to high. At least by double. Take 50% of all the prices and now we are talking. Quality products at competitive pricing. But as it stands, all their regular priced items are way over priced.

I hope I was able to at least helping one person reading this and if that wasn't you then I apologize. Just want to give a regular guy's point of view on my overall experience with Spec Ops. If you are on the fence regarding this deal then just pull the trigger and go for it. You shouldn't regret it. I didn't and was actually more satisfied than expected. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. (Posted on 1/4/2013)

Went from a medium sized backpack to this kit.
I had been looking at T.H.E Pack for a while but the price was holing me back (I had a bag that worked although the zippers were really tight from all the stuff I had crammed in there) with this kit you get T.H.E. Pack and 3 other useful items for under $100. It's a winner. And the construction is very solid. I may order another for my hunting bag. (Posted on 12/18/2012)

I have this pack which I purchased way back in 2003, I have to say it is the best constructed and organized pack I have ever been issued or owned. If you have to have just one bag to use as a bugout or 3 day travel pack this is it. Lots of room, very sturdy construction and comfortable to wear. (Posted on 12/7/2012)
