I've owned similar belts from a number of other brands and this is the best. It is the stiffest where it needs to be vertically, more flexible horizontally and the easiest to put on since it doesn't slide on the buckle as it is being put on.

I am currently wearing mine for about 8 years.

The price may be higher than others, but it's worth it in value. (Posted on 12/20/2013)

This is my first BDU belt. I've had this belt for about a month or 2 now. I bought it as a everyday wear belt to replace my other regular one that is wearing out. Wanted something a bit different. And from what I've read about other people owning this & the older one. Seems like I'll have it for many, many years & will still be in great condition.

At first, I didn't like it when I got it & was just checking it out. The actual first day of wearing it. I forgot I had a belt on. It's so light. I only notice it due to the end of the belt being stiff & sticking out a bit.

The plastic buckle helps to have for my job to not damage anything when I lean on the job I'm working on. There's no arm on the buckle that you have to put through a hole for it to hold. Or no slide pin type buckle. You set it where you want it & it holds damn well! And taking it out of the belt loops is trouble free since there's nothing on the belt to catch on the belt loops like some other belts do. (Posted on 12/18/2013)

I've just upgraded my 1.75" belts to the SpecOpsBrand Better BDU. By far, these belts are the most durable I've owned, and the colors match my tactical clothing perfectly. I was especially impressed that the "gray" belt is a perfect foliage green, as far as my aging eyes can tell. Also, these are rigid enough to positively lock a paddle holster in place beneath civilian wear. I managed to obtain one of the AF blue belts before they were discontinued, and I am still happy with that one, as it works well with denim after they've faded a bit. My overall assessment is that the Better BDU Belt is absolutely the best on the market. (Posted on 12/14/2013)

Best uniform belt out there....period!Review by Chief
I have been wearing this belt almost everyday for the past three years. The plastic buckle is airport friendly, as I do wear this belt with jeans at times. Mine was a little long when I bought it, so I cut it to the length I wanted and then burnt the end. There are no signs of wear after three years of use with holsters, and gear hanging off of it as well as a deployment thrown in there! I plan on purchasing another one or two for casual wear as well. Enjoy! (Posted on 12/6/2013)

Definitely a better BDU belt! I have one of the older models with the metal buckle. I bought it when I needed a belt for my BDUs when I had lost my issue one. It turned out to be one of the better purchases I had ever made. I still use it to hold up my jeans and it doesn't shirk from carrying my EDC, which is a full size 1911. (Posted on 11/24/2013)

I have both the older with the metal buckle and the newer with the plastic buckle. Both buckles work well. The metal buckle eventually looses the power black coating. I actually prefer the metal buckle (unfortunately they do not make it anymore), because I wear two of these belts, one on top of the other. The thinner metal buckle makes a better under belt. IMHO the original metal buckle is / was superior to the new plastic. (Posted on 11/8/2013)

I bought mine about 3 years ago and have worn it just about daily since then. I usually carry a knife in a kydex sheath with a TEK-LOK clip, which is rough on belts. Looking at the Better BDU Belt, I can't even see where I usually carry. I"ve also used it to hold coolers on kayaks/canoes, strap stuff to the roof racks on vehicles, and other unnapproved uses...

It also fits comfortably under the waistbelt on my backpacking packs.

For the price, you're getting the best damn belt on the market. Bonus: it's made in the USA. (Posted on 11/1/2013)

I will start off first, saying that they mastered this belt- it has a CORNER CUT at the end. I've used other tactical belts. Maybe some have the corner cut, I wouldn't know. I never used any that came that way, I've always have to take the scissors out and do it myself, the take a lighter to the thinner out edges. After a few days the edges would still fray out and the belt would just.. come apart.

Upon opening my packaged, this is what stood out the most right away. It eliminates the frustrating "insertion part", IE the beginning of putting the belt on lol.

Quality was focused on here. Extra thick stitching says this belt won't fall apart anytime soon. The other belts I've worn were very, very thin. Aside from fraying along the edges after awhile, they just couldn't hold up my pants while I was carrying my handgun with a concealed holster, a wallet, cell phone, flashlight and utility knife. I could feel my pants slowly sliding down after walking down just a hallway. This one from Spec-Ops, it's weight-bearing, and as said before- built to last.

For the price, you'd be a fool not to get one of these. (Posted on 10/27/2013)

I purchased my first BBDU belt in the nineties-the one with the metal buckle-on the recommendation of the clothing sales clerk. I still have it. Wore it with a uniform every day for four years, then bought the plastic buckle version to clear a metal detector at work (new career). I have worn this one for seven or eight years, five days a week. There really is not a better belt of this type on the market. I stayed in the Reserve after active duty, every time the uniform changes color I buy the updated BBDU belt. Thanks! (Posted on 10/7/2013)

I own two black 1.5" BDU belts and wear them almost everyday. They hold my mace, Surefire flashlight, and gun with no problems. One has a metal buckle and the other is the Plastic /or whatever durable type non-metallic product. I am ordering more since put on some weight and have had them for many years and need a larger size !.
I highly recommend them since they are so durable and will carry a good load when need to do so. Enjoy them, and you can not go wrong on the price as well.

But i have to just a bit. While it is better than a normal belt i feel it lacks a bit when using a no clip IWB holster. It's stiffness is decent but i experience slippage when really cranking down on it to help retain cant and proper positioning of my full size handgun. All in all not a bad belt but i think i will eventually move on to more expensive options for my specific gun belt needs (Posted on 5/20/2013)

I've worn belts like this in the Marines for years. I got this one more for civilian use as its lighter and a nicer looking than the military issue types. I also like the plastic buckle. However, I wasn't too crazy about the sizing of the belt. I'm around a 36 for a belt, so I bought the larger and ended up cutting it to suit my needs. I wish it was sized more like the riggers belt and also had the velcro for the extra length. I can't really complain though, its a good belt overall. (Posted on 4/19/2013)

This is a great belt, it is sturdy and has held up well the past couple years I have owned it. wearing one for 4-5 years now? excellent. TSA idiots still tell me to take it off but it is an excellent belt to travel with. It is discrete but tactical. It conforms well to my body but never rolls. If I sweat it up, it's washable. It's not a combat load bearing web belt but I'm not using it as one. I wear one while doing forestry work and another while back country skiing. These belts support light weight equipment well, including holstered pistols and tools. I'm in the process now of ordering two more so I can semi-permanetly set up equipment loads on them rather than having to switch out gear. (Posted on 2/25/2013)

I choose to war these belts in my Army uniform and in civilian clothing BUT I like the old SPEC - OPS belts better. The old metal buckle held better than the current plastic ones (Posted on 7/13/2012)

Belts usually break within a month when I use them, but I have had this belt for over four months and it is still as good as new. I also have a nickle allergy and I dont have to worry about breaking out because it is plastic. (Posted on 6/20/2012)

I originally purchased 2 of these back in 2006 when we switched over to ACUs because the issue buckles slipped too much for me. I still wear the first one all the time and the second has never been needed. Mine had the original steel buckle which I like best, but I just bought one of the newer ones in black with the plastic buckle which still works nicely, for civilian wear... (Posted on 6/17/2012)

Nothing fancy but it's well built (MADE IS USA), rugged yet comfortable to wear, and it looks good. Keep up the good word Spec Ops. I gave 5 star value because it's made in USA and well built so it will outlast several cheaper belts. (Posted on 6/7/2012)

Looking at the buckle and belt route, I didn't think this belt would hold. I thought it would slip through the buckle easily. But it works fine.

When donning it, if the belt is routed through the first half of the buckle and held at 90° to the body, it doesn't slip, even then.

Now I can have my infinite adjustments.

Top notch. (Um, pun not intended) (Posted on 4/18/2012)

I've worn a Spec Ops BDU belt for years now. It's been through one overseas deployment and a whole lot more training. Never once have I felt uncomfortable with this belt. The plastic buckle is rounded off and doesn't jab you in the stomach like metal buckles do. (Posted on 3/20/2012)

I am a fat old mechanic,my son got me one of these at Fayetteville several years ago. It stays tight and comfy all day, and comes loose when you want it too easily. I used to only wear irt for good because I didnt want it to get dirty but i got tired of my flame resistant cotton pants falling off by noon. this cured the problem,so I am buying 2 more to wear for good. Just but the jumbo extra large size and cut it off to fit with a hot knife. great USA made product. (Posted on 3/12/2012)

i bought this belt 7 years ago and just now had to buy a replacement. i wore it in korea, iraq and afghanistan and it never failed. it is lighter than the riggers belt, which is a great belt also, but i prefer the lightweight feel of this one. the only reason i had to replace it is the end became so frayed that i could not fit it through the buckle. it took 7 years to do that so it does not affect my opinion at all. With having amazing experiences with other Spec Ops Brand Items, when I needed a belt, I turned to the Better BDU Belt. It is everything I thought it would be and more. I have a 38-40" waist. I bought the 1.5 Large Size and it Fits Great. I got one in Black as I figured its the best all around color. I wear it with my dress kaki's for work, and with my cargo's and jeans when not at work. It works with all of them. The buckle is great and holds the belt in place at all times. It does not loosen up like lesser belts. I have worn larger belt knife sheaths and held them up with ease. I Definitely am going to get more in different colors. (Posted on 1/19/2012)

I own several, over five, different colors and widths. I bought them one by one since 2005. I wear them with a Blackhawk Serpa holster at work. My favorite one is a coyote 1 1/2 width. The webbing is slick where the plastic holster loops ride after six years of use. When they get dirty, I just leave them in the pants and wash them in the washer, but air dry them. I like the 1 1/2 width for blue jeans, and the 1.75 for the tactical pants. (Posted on 1/7/2012)

Just as good as my favorite belt, the SpecOps Riggers belt.. Big plus, it doesn't set off the metal detector, so no droopy pants or dealing with TSA. Thick enough to keep it's shape, quiet. Doesn't constantly come loose like many of the other nylon belts you will find at the PX or online. Better price than the Riggers, which is why it gets 5 star rating across the board from me. This belt is:
Lightweight and Comfortable: I barely notice it's there, and it doesn't dig in when sitting down. Easy to adjust but stays put: very easy to tighten or loosen the belt without fiddling with the old style buckle but doesn't loosen itself up through the day. Very low profile: I can comfortably wear this belt underneath a backpack's waist belt without the usual hot spots. Non-metallic but sturdy: great load bearing capability given the weight and low bulk and I don't have to take it off at the airport! (Posted on 12/20/2011)

It's been 12 years since I last wore BDU's... but lo and behold these work for anything.
Sitting at the Thanksgiving table, everyone struggling with how much food they've consumed, this belt beautifully loosened to accommodate the increased girth various dead animals had bestowed upon me.

"So what!" you exclaim? This same "too much turkey" principle also applies for a person who owns more than one firearm and holster setup. I have also owned a $60 high quality leather belt for some time to help support a hip carried firearm. Adjusting this to IWB carry, or having to go without, i find that there's never a just right point with the holes... the comfortable point is always somewhere in-between 2 holes...

Not so with this belt! Rigid enough for me to carry a full sized pistol on my hip, flexible enough to be comfortable. Easily adjustable to IWB, hip carry, no carry, too much turkey, or even the classic Al Bundy pose in front of the television, should that be your preference.

And given it's simplicity, it blends well in most attire without standing out. Between the Tan, Coyote Brown, and Black belts, I find this blends pretty well with most work attire i wear.

Even works great with attaching my keys and EDC as needed as if they are not even there. Never have had deformation at any point on the belt where i keep these items for long periods. (Posted on 11/25/2011)

Every service member knows how annoying it is when your pants start to sag because your gear is dragging your cheap, unreliable belt down. And every service member's spouse/partner knows how noisy the standard metal buckle is when you're putting it on at zero dark thirty in the morning.
Thankfully, the Better BDU Belt deals with these issues. Solid, durable construction, to include the plastic buckle, means that despite wearing mine for the USMC, I have not had any failures. The plastic, quiet buckle is also a helluva lot more tactical because it doesn't clank around. And, unlike a good rigger's belt, the Better BDU Belt is lighter, doesn't involve velcro, and doesn't thermal-load as much...you know how bad your waist sweats wearing a rigger's belt in the heat.
The only con is the price; if you're a marine and you take MCMAP seriously, you'll be buying a new one every time you test up a belt because they're too comfortable to stay with the standard issue.
All in all, an excellent piece of gear. (Posted on 11/16/2011)

I bought this belt three years ago, and it's still going strong. It never comes loose like the issued belt, the buckle is plastic, so there's no finish to rub off, and give a crappy appearance for wear with the uniform, and it's thick, and very sturdy. I've put this belt through a lot of abuse, and it may not look as good as it did the day I bought it, but it never fails to do what it's supposed to. (Posted on 10/2/2011)

I bought this belt on the recommendation of a friend. I was put off by the price at first as it was $16.95 at my PX, but I was curious about it ans I eventually bought it. I'm glad I did. It's much better fitting than my Army issued belt, and it can support the weight of items like multi-tools and other heavy items without the belt crunching up or making my pants feel like they are coming down. This was a great buy. The only issue is that my issued belt is 46" (That's bigger than what I need, but I can manage it) so the same size in the Better BDU Belt is several inches longer leaving me with lots of extra belt to fiddle with. However that's a sizing issue that I can fix by returning it to the PX for a smaller size. (Posted on 9/23/2011)

I bought this belt based on a recommendation from a friend. At first I was taken back at the price ($16.95 at my PX) but I eventually bought and I'm so glad I did. It's fits more snug, and comfortable than my standard issue belt, plus I can but items on like multi-tools, etc. without it feeling like my pants are going to come down. The only thing to look out for is that the sizing chart for the Better BDU Belt is bigger than standard Army sizes, (I wear 36"-46") so my belt is too big for me, but I'm still within my return time so I can just return it for a smaller size. I have been wearing a Better BDU belt nearly everyday for over 2 years now. I have to say it is most definitely my favorite belt. It has done all that I can ask of it (like holding up my pants!) and more. For example, though probably not quite the most appropriate gun belt, I have carried my Glock 19 IWB with a spare magazine and a full EDC loadout in my pockets. The Better BDU belt just grins - or rather, strains - and bears it. Not to mention that it can be used as an emergency tourniquet or carrying strap for an unweildy object such as a log or whatever else it would fit around. Highly recommended. (Posted on 6/14/2011)

It goes on my work pants, on my church pants, everywhere - its great. after 3 years or so, there is some "deflection" ie bending the shape of the belt when its off the pants. but it holds my IWB holster (g26) even in shorts without any problems (Posted on 6/5/2011)
